Translated into Kyrgyz by Topchugul Shaidullaeva.

Topchugul Shaidullaeva, born 1960, is a Kyrgyz writer and the editor-in-chief of Agropress magazine. She wrote her dissertation on sociology, and has worked at Bishkek Humanities University, Kyrgyz Women Institute and Kyrgyz State University. She has researched, among other things, problems caused by poverty among women in rural areas. Her writing includes over 100 scientific articles and her collection of short stories "Jan Sherick", published in 2000 was elected Book of the Year by the Kyrgyzstan Union of Journalists and Writers. She has also received many national and international awards for her journalism.

Translated into Kazakh by Madina Omarova, born 1975 in the village Ungurtas within the area of Almaty, where she lives now.  She is a journalist, writer and translator who works for the television channel «Habar», and a member of the Central Asian PEN Centre. She writes prose and plays in Kazakh. Her writing has been published in the following magazines, newspapers and anthologies: «Juldyz», «Jaz tolkyn», «Ak kumbez», and «Knigolyub» («The bibliophile»). Some of her stories have been translated into Russian and French.
