The Poem

Meitheamh

Seachnaíonn an saol
Meitheamh

Meitheamh, nuair a d’éag mo chroí
nuair a d’éag mo chuid filíochta
nuair a d’éag mo leannán
i bhfuil-linn na rómánsaíochta

Meitheamh, ina scoilteann an ghrian mo chraiceann
ag nochtadh fírinne mo chneá
Meitheamh, ina n-éalaíonn an t-iasc as an bhfuil-leacht
le faoiseamh a lorg
Meitheamh, a dhíchumann an chruinne, a bhalbhaíonn na haibhneacha,
a charnann litreacha nach féidir a sheachadadh ar na mairbh
